AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

I often struggle to enjoy Marzens, but I was surprised a bit by this one. The aroma is mild, understated, toasty malt, cereal and ginseng. The flavor is light and again toasty with some distinct flavors from the vienna and darker malts that thankfully don’t overwhelm the beer. Finishes dry, slightly bitter with hints of lemon

AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

The aroma is milt and somewhat non-deScript. The texture is very nice, buttery with good balanced hops acidity. The taste is a fine balance of hops and malt. The beer is eminently drinkable and not too heavy.

Tap into glass. Mahogany color, nose of maple? Oddly sweet at any rate. In the mouth malty with a crisp bite. Finishes with a bit more malt, a brief hit of sweet and lingering mild hops. Respectable if relatively unremarkable Americanized take on the style.

AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

12oz in Boston. Warm and rich autumnal beer, heavier malting and sweet earthiness. better than a ’premium’ lager with richer caramel-copper malting and a little spice. Rich and tasty.

AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20

Not a lot of fragerance but has a wonderfuly crisp fall taste. A sharp, well balanced, yet wonderfuly light beer.

AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20

Bottle from Harvest Market Pours a clear copper color with a smallish off white head that hangs around for a bit. Light toffee and earthy floral hops in the aroma along with a hint of mineral water. The flavor is light toffee and sweet malts with a light fruity twang. Light earthy hop provides some balance. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick watery mouthfeel. Nothing horribly exciting here, pretty poor excuse for an Oktoberfest, I wouldn’t buy this again.

AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Brass-amber colored pour with a swiftly fading white head and busy carbonation. Nice aroma of toasted biscuit malts, caramel, butter, and general sweetness. The body is medium. The taste also has an upfront maltiness with a slightly more bitter bite but not in a floral, earthy hopped up fashion. Just a slight lingering finish. I enjoyed it.

AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

Light musty caramel aroma. Copper orange color. Starchy malt flavor, light enough to have some bitter hops evident. Crisp like a pils, overall too light though.

AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

Bottle from Half Time. Pours light copper with a slight, transient beige head. Mild caramel/roast aroma. Flavor starts toffee, moving to a bit bready, picking up some grassy? hop, and ending a little papery. Balanced, but rather bland.
