Entrance to Munich's Oktoberfest is free and you don’t have to buy tickets to enter the Oktoberfest beer tents. However, you can reserve a table beforehand – the beer tents are often packed, especially on the weekends, and if you don’t have a reservation, you might be denied to enter a full tent.
How to Reserve a Table in an Beer Tent:
If you want to reserve a table, you have to contact the Oktoberfest beer tent directly; you can make reservations by email, fax, letter, or phone. Make your reservations as soon as you can – some beer tents accept reservations as early as December and get booked out fast.
If you Don't Have a Reservation:
No reservation? Don’t despair! You can also visit the beer tents without having a reservation, just make sure to arrive as early as possible: During the week, come no later than 2:30 p.m.; on the weekend, mornings are the best and least crowded times to visit the beer tents.
