Yes, today we are in mourning. Never have the interwebs seen such an outbreak of black-armbandism and female weepiness, at least not since that one time when Justin Bieber said he was going to quit Twitter.

Yes, today we learned that our good internet buddies the charming and fragrant Julian Assange Fanciers Guild has closed its metaphorical doors, presumably forever. Not just stopped posting: deleted. FINITO!

Last but certainly not least, I’d like to thank Julian Assange: for following his original plan, hatched somewhere in a formulae-covered Melbourne bedroom and seeing it through to create something bigger than himself; something that is borne of an idealism perennially vulnerable, but equally deathless because of and despite human nature. We have yet to see this idea reach its apogee – of that I am certain.
(Let’s not forget those fascinating hairstyles).
